  2. Hi I am new to this topic but am very interested in hosting bees on my property. We have about 7 acres in Middleburg and would like to add hives. I don't have the knowledge to care for them myself, but would be happy to have someone care for hives on our property and to work out a deal to share the production. Call me at 703-963-1647 if interested. Thanks Mike

Bob was so helpful in identifying the type of bee living in my siding. He also offered his services if they turned out to be honey bees, which they did not. Thanks, Bob!

  16. Does anyone have any hive boxes that they want to sell? I’m looking for 1-2 full height boxes with frames. 1-2 mediums with or without frames. I would also need 2 hive tops and 2 top boards. A queen extractor or two would be nice, but not necessary. Used boxes are okay, but does anyone build new boxes out of cedar? I would like to stain mine instead of painting. Also, I don’t mind cleaning and waxing them if I have to. I just thought I would save you some work. I would like to expand my hives and get a jump on preparing for next year. If you know of anyone getting out of the beekeeping business, then please pass my info along to them.
